On December 8th Samara Access had a pleasure of meeting with Thomas Santos and Natasha Isadora Frank at Samara Access. For all of them - teachers and students - it was a significant event. Thomas had a chance to observe classes in all the three groups of Access students and participated in a videoconference with Khasavyurt Access.
The theme of the videoconference was "Friendship bridge: discussing tolerance, Part I". The aim of this VC was to introduce the topic "Tolerance".
The students met their new and old friends from Khasavyurt, said a few words about themselves. It's a common opinion that Intolerant behavior and discrimination are caused by lack of knowledge about other people and misunderstanding. So during the first VC the students told each other about the place they live in - their native cities. In the end the pupils on both sides of the "bridge" sang a song in Russian and in English together. It's the song that united the students of our cities for the first time - "Letter to Orlyonok". All the participants were happy to see and hear each other again after their meeting in Orlyonok and are eager to continue the project.
